Designing Cae Ras

Designing Cae Ras is a speculative proposal for the Racecourse Ground in Wrexham, Wales, that was part of a research and marketing project. The full story can be read here.

The project aims to showcase innovative stadium design ideas, by introducing an unusual multi-functionality (football, education and local retail), and by truly integrating the stadium into its urban setting, by providing public access to its arcades throughout. It further shows a thoughtful construction method, partially reusing old Ruabon Bricks, laid with traditional bricklaying methods. This reflects the local architectural heritage, with its predominantly two-storey red brick buildings. Although the proposal is purely conceptual, it offers a glimpse of what a future development of the Racecourse Ground could look like.
